I've been providing telemental health services (online therapy) since 2017. I find that it makes me more accessible to my clients, and it's more convenient for you.
Online therapy allows you to continue to seek mental health treatment without risking exposure.
Get help from wherever you're most comfortable.
Therapy is important. But it's probably not the only important thing you have going on in your life.
Online therapy means you don't have to sit in traffic, or drive long distances to see the right therapist. It also means that you can take less time away from your other responsibilities - work, childcare, school - while still getting the help you deserve.
Studies show that online therapy is as effective as in-person counseling. You are still interacting in real time with a trained counselor that you can see and hear.
Online counseling is not for everyone. If you have questions about whether online therapy is right for you, call for more information: 972-829-6472.
For more information on using SimplePractice (which is the portal I use for telehealth sessions) please see here.
Your information will be stored in an encrypted database that is compliant with all federal and state healthcare privacy laws. The video feed that we use for our sessions is also encrypted, ensuring confidentiality & the protection of your information.
I use Simple Practice for our sessions. When you click on the "Online Scheduling" link on my website, it will take you to the user portal for my online office.
Once your first session is booked, you'll get an email with a link to set up your online account through Simple Practice.
From there, you'll have access to everything you need: consent forms, payment info, scheduling, and secure messaging so you can communicate with me. You can also download an app to do it all from your smartphone.
Ten minutes before every appointment, you'll get an email with the link to the secure video session.
If you can reliably stream videos online (Netflix, Hulu, Youtube) or FaceTime, your internet connection is probably fast enough for online therapy.
You'll get a link to the session in your email. You can open it in an app on your smartphone, or in a browser on your computer. Any internet-capable device with a camera will do.
Great for privacy (and great for audio quality). With headphones, we'll be able to hear each other clearly.
You'll need a space that you can talk openly without worrying that you'll be overheard.
